With the first winter storm of the season, the board and property manager would like to remind all residents that the responsibility for snow plowing and ice services within the Exeter community is shared by the Town of Leesburg and the HOA.
The town is responsible for treating and clearing the roads in the single-family neighborhood as well as Fieldstone Dr. and Ambrosia Pl.
The roads within the townhomes are owned by the HOA and therefore the HOA is responsible for their maintenance, including snow plowing and ice treatment services. The HOA has contracted to provide for these services. The HOA is not permitted to plow Town roads.
Residents can help expedite the snow-removal process by staying home if possible during severe weather. Residents should remove their vehicles from Town maintained roads, to help crews clear the snow as efficiently as possible.
As a reminder, town code requires each resident to keep sidewalks safe by clearing snow and/or ice off the sidewalks in the front and the side of their residence within 24 hours of the end of the snow event so all pedestrians, especially school children, those with disabilities and the elderly, may walk safely and securely by keeping them out of the street.
Whenever a snow emergency is declared, the Town operates a Snow Hotline (703-777-SNOW or 703-777-7669) for residents to call with questions about snow removal operations or to report problems. The Snow Hotline will remain active until the snow emergency is lifted.
We encourage you to access the Town of Leesburg website at the following link which provides useful information regarding preparation for and actions to take following a snow event.
